For Ella

This little outfit, so to speak is from a clothing shop in NY called Makie, I have linked their name to their website. Their clothes are quite adorable and if I was rich I would probably purchase some for Ella, but this "outfit" would cost me $395.00. At least the designs are simple enough that I could make them for her on my own,  until we strike it rich. 

All about Daddy

The magazine Apartamento has a feature on Geoff McFetridge on things he has made for his daughter. We love the little kitchenette he made and now Nick is going to replicate it for Ella for her 2nd birthday. I also included Ella's favorite hangout. When you can't find her, she is usually on our bed reading. 

Before Nick adds wood craftsman to his long list of skills, he continues to be the master of the sandwich.

which one

This is what you do at 5am when your daughter wakes you up. City is in the distance, it was a pretty morning. Maybe I can kid myself into thinking Ella wanted me to see this.

I was searching for some images to help with the logo for "Jewels for schools" and came across these. I wish I knew what was going on in those kids everyday lives. Maybe it is the same for kids then and now, Billy took my shovel, Anna Marie doesn't like me, Billy found a cool frog. It is really only the parents that are truly aware of different political, social changes that are relevant in the world.

Power of Elmo

There are certain things about kids that you will never understand. The power of Elmo is one of them. Of course we all heard about the "Tickle me Elmo" craze a few years back, but I was not that frame of mind to pay real attention. When Ella was 6 months old, my brother gave her a "Tickle me Elmo" doll. She was a little scared at first and didn't really get excited until closer to her 1st birthday. She now wimpers ever so softly at Elmo when he isn't turned on to go through his laughing antics. She craves the excitement of trying to decide whether to sit or stand to watch her favorite show.

Lucky Jade coverall

Prior to Ella being born, I bought this super cozy cotton/cashmere hoodie by the brand Lucky Jade. I bought it on a complete whim at the boutique Doe in the lower Haight. I decided to look up the site today, just to see what else they may have.  Aside from the super cute (expensive) baby things, I got fixated on the "where to buy page". There are alot of crazy baby stores/brands out in the world. You have modern tots, kids n kribs, the nest and the cradle, macro baby...and it goes on and on. I guess we should feel lucky that we have at our fingertips everything and anything we would ever want for our child. or scared. 

hiatus

I have been away for quite some time. Didnt think that the work/baby juggle would get me so hard, but it did. I have now been back at work for 2 months and well it has been great and sad all at the same time. We found a great day care and Ella loves it there, so it puts us at ease to be away and I have to say I like my work..it's a great place.

So here is a pic of my little girl gettin her nails done by her Daddy, just so you can see why it has been so hard to post. 

And I am now off for the Holidays and have a few things up my sleeve to show, stay tuned.

Ella is way to young now, but one day we will have found the best one to boost her bum.

Bicycle seat for Ella

I have started my search for the perfect bicycle seat for Ella. Even though she won't be ready to ride until the Spring, I feel that the search may take some time. It really doesn't get any better than Amsterdam, it is so wonderfully casual with riding your whole family on 2 wheels. 

This is one of the seats I have found so far, I don't really understand the big plastic plate in the front of it though. I think they may be taking child safety a little too far.

Diaper call out

Was very excited to learn about these biodegradable diapers and even more so, when I learned that they cost the same as the 7th generation ones on Diapers.com

However, the only drawback is that they don't re-fasten when you want to wrap them up tightly and put in diaper genie. I will live with this for the environment's sake but I wish they were a little easier to handle when dirty.
