hiatus

I have been away for quite some time. Didnt think that the work/baby juggle would get me so hard, but it did. I have now been back at work for 2 months and well it has been great and sad all at the same time. We found a great day care and Ella loves it there, so it puts us at ease to be away and I have to say I like my work..it's a great place.

So here is a pic of my little girl gettin her nails done by her Daddy, just so you can see why it has been so hard to post.

And I am now off for the Holidays and have a few things up my sleeve to show, stay tuned.

Diorama

I was thinking that it was about time for me to make a new diorama, and out of curiosity I thought I would check out the world wide web. I found this cute one above, it has really cute robots. But what I really found was a new website to look at called "quirky japan".  It's like an off the beaten path tour guide, there are some real gems in there..check it out.

scandinavian design

wish i could read what it said in the description of this photo on the scandinavian design webpage, this photo was on the same page as these chairs below; i will need to do some research.

ok this isnt a chair, but it gave me an idea of a tutu for a light in a kids room...could be cute
i really dont like the sleigh like back legs, it takes away from a nice chair
dont really know what to make of this

oh babies and halloween

I really wish that the pictures were bigger, sorry. The last one is a christmas ornament, I find it so funny to think that your child would want to be an ornament. The shark and billy goat make me giggle as well. I am having alot of fun this Halloween looking through all of these costumes. There is really something out there for everyone and just this mix alone, states it very well.

Time for science

living roof
tree frogs...really
anaconda eating a mouse, its underneath...oh yeah and ice cube
me and ella
albinogator
The renovated  Academy of Science in Golden Gate park, SF, is now open and I couldn't be happier. It is such an amazing place with lots to see.  I wish I took a pic of the penguins, they are too cute and stinky...who knew

Cool Treehouses

Designed by Bauraum, a design agency in Germany. You can contract them to custom design your perfect treehouse.
Designed by Tom Chudleigh, called his free spirit spheres and are eco friendly.
Nestled among the fir trees in Lake Muskoka, Ontario, is this design by Lukasz Kos.

Kenley and Alexander

I had to dig up this photo after watching project runway last night with Kenley's wedding dress. It is very similar to Alexander McQueen's. It is utterly fantastic, I would get married in this dress in a heartbeat. But since I'm already married, I would even wear it just out on the town, or grocery shopping or where ever the day took me really...

Gareth Pugh shows in Paris

This is his first show in Paris since winning the ANDAM fashion award this summer and moving his fashion house to the city of light. I love that you see everyone in white as they come to you and black as they walk away.

Booster seats for Ella

Ella is way to young now, but one day we will have found the best one to boost her bum.

One of my favorite artists

Her name is Kelly Tunstall and she lives here in San Francisco. I absolutely love her paintings and in one of her latest shows, she did some mini installations of fun objects (middle pic). I can't wait to take Ella to the next one.

Martin Margiela SP/SU 09 Paris

This Belgium designer was known for being the 7th member of the Antwerp Six, a group of avantgarde designers that all graduated in 80/81 from the Antwerp Royal Academy.
I would never wear any of these designs, other than to a costume party, but he did really hit the mark for playing with negative space.

Hussein Chalayan SP/SU09

They filled the back of the dresses with latex to form them as if they were still in motion. Paris fashion week, always brings out the best in avant garde.

Sarah Easom illustration

It's always interesting to see the initial concept and final outcome. Im really into textile design lately, maybe today is the day to play with my tee juice pens. I really should start this now, since I only have a week left on my maternity leave. EEK! Then back to Levis with 4o+ hour work weeks and time with the bean & Nick. I will surely practice my time management skills for projects.

perfect summer home

I really just love this house and wish it were mine.

Fuji Rock Festival

Kids hanging out by the creek at the festival. Behind them is one of the A SEED recycling stations. This festival, put on by Smash Japan, is one of the greenest festivals around and is going on it's 9th year in the resort of Naeba.
Tents layered on the beautiful green landscape.
Next year we want to bring Ella. We feel from this photo, she will be ready to take it on.

Luella SP/SU09

These clothes make me wish I went out more, to places where I could where them.

Some dresses by Christopher Kane

Wanted to share, if they haven't already been seen, some dresses by Christopher Kane from London fashion week. The cream dress with the leopard sweater is a fave and I really can't wait to see the black and white dress up close. I like to peruse the stores to see the clothes in detail.
